Rakija Evaluation
It is a complex and demanding process that requires the full engagement of the senses, as well as extensive, systematic knowledge and experience. Our jury consists of Dipl. Eng. Vladimir Vučetić, Prof. Dr. Predrag Vukosavljević, Dipl. Eng. Ljuba Urošević, Dipl. Eng. Ana Lapčević, and Ljubiša Stanković. With decades of scientific and practical experience behind them, they have made significant contributions to the advancement of strong spirits technology. Rakijas are evaluated using a contemporary methodology based on a 0–100 point scoring system, assessing multiple aspects of quality, aroma, and taste.
The evaluation is not a competition, but rather a professional assessment designed to help distilleries revisit the essential criteria of high-quality rakia and continuously improve their production.
In addition to the main category, special attention is given to hobbyist distillers through the award “The Greatest Rakija Achievement.” This award aims to encourage hobby producers to register their distilleries and become an active part of the rakija scene.
Since 2025, packaging design has also been evaluated, with a jury composed of renowned design professionals: Slobodan Jovanović, Lazar Bodroža, and Nenad Trifunović.
The professional evaluation of rakija samples for the Belgrade Rakija Fest – BEOGRADSKI POBEDNIK will take place in March 2026.
Propositions
The samples for rakija evaluation will be purchased by the organizer in retail outlets where the competing rakijas are commercially available. Therefore, rakija producers are required to submit to the organizers at least two such retail addresses by March 20, 2026.
The evaluation fee is 3,000 RSD per sample. In addition, the organizers will invoice the producers for the retail price of the rakija purchased in hospitality or retail establishments, based on a fiscal receipt.
The evaluation results and the award ceremony for category winners will be presented during the official program of the Belgrade Rakija Fest.
